Week 2: A little bit of laundry plumbing at the rental property

This past week we had a little bit of laundry plumbing done at the house. Do you remember how the washing machine is in the corner of the kitchen? You can see all the before pictures of the house here.

This was a deal breaker for us and we knew it had to be moved. This house has a very small room across from the bathroom that is way too small to be a bedroom, but is the perfect size for a laundry room.

We hired One Call Plumbing from Ingleside, Ontario to do the work for us. This job was way outside the scope of something Tony and I are capable of. This house was built on a concrete slab, so it’s not as easy as going into the basement and fixing the plumbing.

The plumbers had to dig a trench from the bathroom to the laundry room. Since the house is on a slab, they had to dig down four feet to get the right slope.

It maybe doesn’t look like too much, but this was a major project that went pretty much according to plan

There was no dryer at all in the house, so One Call also put in a dryer vent. I’m very happy that we made so much progress with the laundry plumbing this week!

Next Week

Next week I hope to finish off the demolition. That means removing more of the trim and flooring, the curtains, and the closet shelves. Hopefully we can get the wall removed from the living room, and also replace the window in the kitchen.

All I can say is WOW! That was a LOT of digging and cement! Glad to hear it went according to plan…
