Tour of our Cabin in the woods

We are finally finished our cabin in the woods! Here is a tour of all the main areas in the cabin.

Exterior

For the exterior of the cabin, we did a pine cove siding that we left unfinished for now. The trim, soffit and fascia is all a clean crisp white. We added a front covered porch to give some extra space for our guests to sit in case it rains. We nearly have completed the landscaping, but still have to plant some grass seed and a few trees.

Behind the cabin we set up a firepit area with some mulch and rocks to define the space.

Kitchen

I love how the cabin kitchen turned out. It’s pretty small, but there’s plenty of space to enjoy a weekend away. There’s a full apartment sized fridge, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, hotplate, and barbecue on the porch. We did a butcher block counter, and an open shelf above with thrifted dishes.

Living room

The living room has a small couch, the ladder going up to the loft, and a propane stove for heat in the colder seasons, The smart TV is hung up in the kitchen so it’s visible from most of the main floor.

Bathroom

The last area on the main floor of the cabin is the bathroom. There is a refinished clawfoot bathtub with a shower, a toilet, and a small vanity.  It’s quite spacious for a tiny cabin bathroom.

Loft bedroom

At this point the loft has a queen bed, but we plan to get a twin mattress to put in the loft as well We still need to finish the handrail, but it will be made from plumbing pipe and horizontal cable..
