Cheap and Easy Tin Can Vase

These decorative tin can vases are an easy and inexpensive way to add a pop of color and texture to any room! You can use this tin can vase for artificial flowers, or a pencil holder, or many other uses for around the house.

Clean some tin cans

You can use any size of tin can, but at the time when I made these I was going through a lot of baby formula. The formula cans are tall and wide, and provide a strong impact because of the large size. I took three empty baby formula cans, cleaned them and removed the labels.

Cover the tin cans with colorful fabric

You could use paper for this step, but I tend to accumulate scraps of fabric. I cut brightly colored fabric in a strip to the height of the can. I applied a layer of mod-podge on the can, and wrapped the fabric around it. Let the first layer dry, and then add another layer of mod-podge on the top. Let it dry, and that’s it for your tin can vase!
